A Heights couple has been arrested for taking $200 thousand from a business owner for work that was never performed. A man from Ramsey was arrested along with them.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the three defendants, operating under the name Janvi Hotel Supply LLC, were hired to perform contract work at a business owner’s three properties in March of 2023. The defendants then billed the business owner $200 thousand. However, the work was never performed. The business owner paid the three the full amount.

Suarez did not identify the business owner or the nature of the work.

Google lists a Janvi Hotel Supply LLC located at 23 Thorne Street in Jersey City. The three people who have reviewed the business describe it as a “scam.”
